Innersense Organic Hair Care
Obviously, being an esthetician I talk a lot about skin care. I'm actually a total hair care junkie too. I think it started pretty young as I was the only one in my family that popped out with a ton of naturally curly hair. Since my mom has straight hair she didn't know how to tame the frizz and curls so needless to say I spent the 80's with giant poofy hair. Once I started doing my own hair as a pre-teen I tried everything I could get my hands on from gels and mousses to all kinds of curl creams and straightening products.
When I was older and started working in spas and salons the hair products became more luxurious and expensive. Even then, while many worked well the majority of the brands were not clean brands and full of pretty toxic ingredients. I didn't feel good about using them. So when I decided to make the switch I was looking for a hair care line that did it all and checked all the boxes: extremely hydrating, frizz control, color safe and of course clean toxin free ingredients that performed. This was a pretty tall order and I tried several natural brands that did not perform or dried out my hair before finding Innersense.
Innersense Organic Beauty is an exquisite hair care line that sources the most beneficial and highest quality plant ingredients in an ethical manner to create salon quality results. The line ranges from shampoos and conditioners to styling products.
The Shampoo + Conditioner
+ Hydrating Hair Bath - I loved how creamy and rich this shampoo is and it smells absolutely amazing. It's formulated with coconut oil, shea butter, and tamanu seed oil. It also contains sage and ylang ylang essential oils to nourish the scalp and jojoba and rice bran to smooth the cuticle of the hair for shine.
+ Hydrating Cream Conditioner - This is a seriously creamy conditioner and a little bit goes a long way. Shea butter, tamanu and flax seed oils nourish and mend; monoi oil and aloe strengthen the hair follicle, smooth cuticles and control frizz. I found it to be deeply hydrating with out weighing my hair down.
Hands down the best curl cream I have ever used. The thing with most commercial curly hair products are many of them contain petroleum, mineral oil, and paraffin to coat the hair. They are all substances that can leave a waxy build up on the hair, but also they are potentially carcinogenic. Plus, they contain several different parabens and formaldehyde releasers like ureas.
+ Quiet Calm Curl Control - Instead of those petroleum based ingredients this curl cream uses certified organic shea butter to smooth, hydrate, and define curls. Rice bran oil and oat kernel extract protect the hair when heat is used and I love the way this curl cream smells with organic orange flower oil and frangipani extract.
I also like to wear my hair blown out straight either flat ironed or with loose mermaid curls, so a heat protectant is definitely needed. I cocktail two pumps of the Harmonic Healing Oil and a nickel size amount of the Inner Peach Whipped Cream Texturizer and applied to the length of my hair. It gives me the heat protection I need, it helps with frizz control and a bit of texture and hold for when I curl it with a curling iron.
+ Harmonic Healing Oil - This hair, skin and nail oil is rich in vitamins, minerals, proteins, and antioxidants. I love it as a styling product but it's wonderful for a body or massage oil, cuticle and nail oil or even scalp treatment.
+ Inner Peace Whipped Cream Texturizer - I love a good texture cream for its many uses. It's great for short hair as well as long hair to create hold, texture, and definition. This texture cream is petroleum free and certified organic shea butter and fruit oils are whipped to protect the hair as well as help control style from humidity, controlling frizz and flyaways.
