DIY: Pumpkin Enzyme Peel

PUMPKIN ALL THE BEAUTY! Oh fall, I heart you so strong! Every fall the same thing happens, PUMPKIN EVERYTHING! You want it! You got it! Not only is it season of pumpkin there are some serious skincare benefits as well!

Pumpkin spice

Pumpkin is full of vitamins and minerals! It's rich in vitamin A which softens the skin and vitamin C is a natural antioxidant that helps fight free radical damage. Pumpkin also contains natural enzymes that help break down dry dead skin cells. So it is a great form of non-manual exfoliation.  Another great benefit to pumpkin is its anti-inflammatory and oil busting properties for acne. While you are adding vitamins, antioxidants and exfoliating the skin you are also calming inflammation and minimizing oil with zinc!

Pro Tips:

+ Heat and steam will activate most enzymes even further. So jumping in the shower will enhance your pumpkin enzyme mask.

+ Freeze your left over pumpkin and avocado in an ice cube tray, toss in a ziplock bag and you will have fresh portioned ingredients for your masks!

+ I would make it fresh each time since there are no preservatives and that is why my recipe is a small batch. However, it should keep in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.

+ You may do this exfoliating mask 1-2 times a week

I really hope you enjoy this recipe and this fabulous season!
